Dual processors
 
I know this questions has probably been asked but
I have a server mother board with 2 processors
how do i get linux to use both
i have a fedora core 2 comp
tyan s2466 athlon mp1800+

afaik you need to recompile the kernal with support.

agree. But it's not a task a newbie should undertake... I tried it once... it took me live ten days to get it to compile AND work ok... Luckyly it was a testing environment... you shouldn't do it if you are not prepared, least of all on a server.

hi,

FC2 has precompiled kernel with Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) support.
You do not have to recompile a new one.
The kernel is: kernel version-smp. Install this kernel and boot it and you will enable both processors.

Recompiling the kernel messed up my installation and for some reason the second time i installed Fedora core 2 it found both
