Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Dual NICs

I am attempting to learn IPCHAINS and I bought a lynksys PCI NIC card to add to an old PC. I already had an ISA NIC card in as ETH0. I am using Mandy 9.0 and I can see the PCI NIC card in the hardware list in Control Center, I don't see the ISA but I don't have a way to configure the PCI NIC as ETH1.

well, the kernel probably isn't even seeing the card, what type of card is the ISA NIC?
if you do a ifconfig -a does it show up there? how about a lsmod?

cat /proc/interrupts also....

I figured it out. Using Mandy's control panel I did a hardware search to configure the PCI based card but chose "expert mode". In expert mode it asks if you have any other cards to configure, YES, and then tell it that the card is ISA and bada boom bada bing.

Mandrake is pretty sweet.
