Dual monitors on ubuntu with Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT...
I can setup the screens fine, but when I reboot my settings are lost, what are the steps to successfully setting up dual monitors? (I have been using the NVIDIA driver tool)
Just to be clear, you're using the nvidia-settings program right?
Make sure you are running nvidia-settings as root (gksu nvidia-settings). Then click "nvidia-settings Configuration" in the left pane and then use the "Save Current Configuration" button in the right pane.
You have to run nvidia-settings as root because when you save the settings it attempts to edit your xorg.conf file, which isn't writable by other users by default.
