Dual Monitors a slow

I just got 2 monitors to work in FC2, but i can really tell how much it slows my computer down. I just wanted to know if anyone knew of some tricks to speed things up a bit.

in system monitor it shows X is using 15%-20% of my processing power always...

my system specs (are they good enough to be doing this?):

AMD XP 1800+
1024MB PC2100

Primary Video: AGP Voodoo3 running on a nice nokia 22 inch monitor (445Xpro) at 1920x1440
Secondary Video: PCI Voodoo3 running on some crappy 17" envision monitor at 1024x768 (kudzu didnt detect my monitor and its not on the list of monitor drivers built into FC2 so i'm using generic CRT monitor drivers, could this be slowing it down?)

thanks =)
