dual monitor setup on ONE graphic card (radeon 9000)
Hi,
I have two monitors (CRT 15" LG sm57 & LCD 17" LG l1710B) and ONE card (AGP Radeon 9000 /DVI+VGA)
I want to have both monitors on same card with xinerama enabled (LCD=main monitor).
My computer is running SUSE 9.0 (xfree 4.3.0), currently with crt sm57 (1024x768/85Hz) on gf2.
I have read Xinerama_howto, but still have some questions (one card only).
I am thinking of:
1) saving current XF86Config file under other name (containing sm57 monitor/mode configuration),
2) in SaX2 change monitor to 17" LCD 1280x1024 and RADEON card.
3) exit X, shutdown, put new graphic card in agp, connect lCD, test X
4) again exit X
5) copying/adding sm57 monitor config from backup file to new XF86Config
6) adding new screen with sm57 monitor BUT SAME DEVICE?!?
7) adding serverLayout, serverflags section
Is this the correct way?
I don't want to "fry" my new LCD with some 85Hz refresh rate set on!
Thanks.
