Dual Moniter Mode Disable Problem

When I disconnect from my moniter, the dual moniter mode says it is disabled but I still have space to the left of my screen. Is there a way to disable this so that the laptop screen is the only working space when disconnected?

Thanks so much for any help.

Sorry, Woodzilla, I do not quite understand what you are doing. You connect an external monitor to you laptop (which graphics card? which distro? which desktop? is it recognized automatically? Do you set it up somehow?).

Then you disconnect it, but the laptop screen behaves as if there is still a big piece of screen next to it?

It shouldn't happen on modern distros, adding/removing monitors should just work.
