Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Dual Head Won't Work

Hey... I got a home brew computer, 1.4Ghz on an Asus A7V board, 544MB Ram, 13G HDD booting Linux Fedora Core 4, S3 Savage 4 Agp (pri) and ATI Rage 128 (sec) cards. First of all, when I go to try to enable dual head, X says changes written to Xorg.Conf (and they are, I checked.), yet my secondary monitor shows nothing, and the mouse won't go past the edges of the screen. I know that monitor works, and the frequency is within it's range. (I've tried switching monitors, pri to sec, and vice versa, but the image only switches between the two monitors.)
Also, when I switch to another VC using the Alt,Ctrl,F(n), the colors are wrong, and half of the first column of letters is on the right side of the screen. (IE, the framebuffer or whatever is offset towards the left.)
Anyone know of any fixes for this. I will look for more up to date drivers when I can.
Thanks,
Junger
