Question Dual head question using Radeon 9000 and Vodoo 3

Hi.
I own a Packard Bell Pentium 4, running SuSE 9.0
the computer carried a Radeon 9000, with AGP port.
I plugged a 3dfx Vodoo 3 through PCI, to get a dual-head desktop, I configured the Radeon as default card on bios, and booted, but when I click on screen configuration, both screens go blank, and it seems the computer hangs (I tried to blindly change into a terminal and reboot, but didn't work) I'm kind of a newbie, so I don't exactly know what other information I should provide.
Thank you

generally with ATI graphic card chipsets it has had many problems with dual monitors on two different graphic cards, especially with one being agp and the other being pci. This is a limitation with the ATI chipset. The ATI Chipsets supports dual monitors but only on the same card. Try setting your pci card as the default card inside your BIOS. This may fix the problem. If not then you might have to purchase dual monitor graphic card either for the pci or agp bus. Also check out http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/
for information about multiple monitor configurations.

Hope this helps,

Travis Smith

I've solved the problem by erasing /etc/X11/XF86config and then running Yast, this way it doesen't try to apply the previous configuration to the new hardware, but it generates a whole-new configuration out of the new hardrware.
Thanks for your help, but the ATI Radeon 9000 has given me no trouble in multi-threading, neither in windows nor in linux, also, I've had to remove the ATI propietary driver, I think I wouldn't have had to, if I had made the configuration manually, but I'm nearly a beginner, and I don't dare touch those files.

Clarification

What I was trying to say was that ATI Radeon chipsets don't allow for multiple monitors across multiple cards but do support multiple monitors on a single card.
