Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

dual dvi output question

I just received a Gigabyte 7600GT card with dual DVI outputs. I have a BenQ and a Viewsonic monitor connected via DVI. Should the card not be able to drive both monitors in text mode i.e. boot sequence? Only the monitor connected to the bottom output is getting signal. If I disconnect it the monitor connected to the upper output gets the signal OK. Does this sound like a defective card?

I've got a FX 5700, and it simply mirrors the output on both screens.

This may be a 'feature' of you card or not. You may need to get in touch with Gigabyte to answer this one.
