Dual Display (Laptop + Docked Monitor) compatibility
HI
Have been a linux user for several years now and have enjoyed multiple distros during that time including Gnome, Cinammon & KDE
Replaced my desktop with a laptop couple of years ago and was happily using it in Mint Cinnamon
However, fancied taking KDE plasma for a spin again and tried Manjaro Rolling release
Very slick and it even recognised my NAS right away which was great. Unfortunately, it does not detect my docked monitor
Tried Manjaro forum and wrestled with this since July and sadly giving up now. Issue appears to be something around Hybrid Nvidia / Intel drivers in my HP Omen laptop
I liked the idea of a rolling release so thought I would look at OPenSuse Tumbleweed KDE. A quick view of their forums indicates there could be a similar issue there as well
I don't want to do a software rebuild if I end up with the same problem!
So that's the background...
I would really appreciate your advice as to:
1) Is this a KDE problem which means I should return to Gnome/Cinnamon
2) Are there any distros that are compatible with my Hybrid drivers?
I really loved Manjaro but the inability to use a perfectly good second screen is a massive productivity killer and I found myself using Windows all the time when I was docked and not using Linux at all
That is not the scenario I want!
So, grateful for your advice
Cheers
