Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

DRM and linux / ASUS P5LD2 mobo

I'm buying a new system to run solely on linux and have been looking at ASUS P5LD2 for a mobo. This has Intel's 945P chipset, which I understand has DRM embedded. Question: is this a concern for linux users (I'm new-ish to computing and new to linux)? Or is it only interoperable with Windows OS? And what exactly will it limit or prevent me from doing? Thanks...
