Driver Problem For PCTEL HSP 56k PCI modem

I have "PCTEL HSP 56k PCI modem" Internal modem installed in my pc , The problem is the driver included is only for 2.4 ver Kernel , (i.e. the driver it supplies compiles only as a 2.4 ver module , ) . I got error in loading the module (using insmod or modprobe ) and it says only supports 2.4 ver Kernel. I don't know much about kernel module programming so that i can correct this problem myself!

(compiled modules are in ".o" format )

I tried to search the net for the driver , but i found only 2.4 ver supported driver , even in pctel.com , linmodem.org, driverguide.com etc.

I want to know whether any 2.6 supported driver is present in this big world ???? :Pengy:
Got frustrated !

here is the lspci dump : =>

Hi Thandermax,

Life has just gotten better for you. Go get the brand new 2.6 driver from here:

and enjoy.
