Driver for Sony DV Mini Handycam DCR-HC30E

I am a new convert to Linux. I am using Fedora core 3. I failed to get a Driver, suitable for the Linux operating system, for a Sony DV Mini Handycam model number DCR-HC30E.

Any firewire DV cam should work. I believe Kino can do the capture directl.

There are posts for DCR-HC90E and DCR-HC40E and they both say that picture capture via usb and video capture via firewire works fine.

Remeber linux has a lot of drivers built-in, it isn't like windows where you need a driver disk for everything.

Plug it in and see what messages appear in dmesg (type dmesg at the command prompt).
