Driver for HP LaserJet 2300L ?
I have HP LaserJet 2300L printer. HP officially supports this series of printer. The HP documentation says that Red Hat 6.1 or higher is supported. I want to use this printer with Red Hat 8.
When I add the printer and want to chose the driver. The Red Hat 8.0 doesn't have a driver for the model. What driver should I choose? Thank you. |
I don't know if you have checked here, but this is where i get all of my printer drivers.
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...-LaserJet_2300 That link is for you. :-) |
Thanks for the link. But what driver I should use for this printer?
This printer has 2 trays and I want to print one job to tray #1 and second job to tray number 2. How that can be done? Thanks for help |
I would just configure the printer through "cups" the printer should respond automatically. If it asks for a driver while configuring, then grab "http://www.linuxprinting.org/ppd-o-matic.cgi?driver=Postscript&printer=HP-LaserJet_2300&show=0
But it should connect and work automatically. Then you can go through cups-->printer config to configure the paper trays. Might work. |
What command I should use to print through CUPS?
|
do "printconf-gui"
Go through the motions and pick the exact driver or set the printer to use "postscript". If simple stuff like that doesn't work....do a Goggle search. This stuff has pretty much been documented like a million times over on the net and probably in these forums. :-)) |
Thanks for your help guys.
Printer works now. |
