driver for GCE-8483B CD-RW in RH9

I'm running RH9 on my emachines T2341. The sound card works, and the CD player can read track information from audio CDs, but I get no sound when I try to play an audio CD with the Hl-dt-st GCE-8483B CD-RW. Anyone know where I can get a driver specific for this CD-RW? emachines is supposedly going to provide linux drivers, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks.
