DRI and X1300 mobile - Is this the truth?

First off, I have an inspirion E1505 with an ati x1300. The driver installation was no problem. But I do have two concerns and might have found an unwated answer to one fo them.

First, the card has 64mb of onboard memory and in windows uses your ram for the other 64 to make 128 or xxx to make 256. (I'm really tired and don't want to think) Is there anyway to have it use your ram as well in linux to equal 128 or w/e if can get up to? I have two gigs of ram in my laptop so thats not a problem.

Second, I can't get DRI working. I read somewhere that since it doesn't have an ati core2 in it, it can't really support mesa and therefore you'll never get DRI working?

Has anyone gotten dri working if so can you help me with mine beofre I pull my hair out please?

thanks,

nomb
