well i have a pentium 4 3ghz with 1go of ram and 80go hard drive. so its quite good i think. the problem is i have a nvidia 5500. i really dont like it. so id like to buy a new one real soon, but i dont know what to buy. i want a real good card without paying 500$. ive heard about nvidia 6800 or ati 9800, i know people are always arguing against each other, but i dont see the difference.
so what should i buy? not necesserily between theses two, but in general.
thanks!
huh man i dont know
cause i have a p4 3ghz, 512 ram, 120 g of hd and a simple gfx 5200!
should i upgrade my video card???
anyways, i think you should buy one according to what you are going to do (play) with them
try those tom's hardware tests and see which one is better for you.

google.com/linux is a really good site :-) from friends, i hear nvidia is good. getting the drivers and such can be hell sometimes, from what i hear, but once they work, its worth it.
well 1go of ram costs, i think, like 150 or 200$ canadian. im not sure though, it was in my system when i bought it.
and the one i finally bought is a nvidia geforce 6600gt, at 350 canadian $. im quite satisfied, i can now play half-life 2 and thief III and all at top graphics,
im having some problems with the card change on linux though
