If you dual Boot anyway it isnt going to hurt to buy it
However check the HCL
i'd myself prefer to buy a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Pro or similare,
they come with a remote , which can be used to control media playpack in widnows
and would i suspect have better support in Linux.
Plus a really great sounding soundcard never hurt anyone.
I also recently saw a Card/system on the nvidia Site.
Package includes
Nvidia fx5200 external controls and a remote control for multimedia system including media Centre.
