Dear All,
I was just wondering if Any of youmight now if this board supports the Duron 1.2GHZ processor at a 200MHZ FSB. Note that the documentation says Duron 650~950, but since the documentation is old and might not be updated, I was hoping the processor I just ordered for it should work. Please add your two cents if you know if it works or not. Thanx beforehand
Yeah it should do, all Duron CPUs use the same architecture. However I don't know what the BIOS of that mobo's like so you might have to set the multiplier manually first in order to do a BIOS update.
All you want is make sure it does boot up, then just do a BIOS update and make sure your FSB is set on 100.
Oh, don't forget to clear the CMOS before you put your new CPU, either do it with the jumper (check out your mobo's manual) or get the battery out for a couple af secs (power tured off obviously, and just to make sure, also turn the PSU off) and put it back in.
Yep, no prob, always up for helping.
Good luck then.
Oh, never forget to plug your HSF, frying an AMD CPU takes half a sec, trust me I've already fried 2 CPUs (Athlon T-BIRD 1.4GHz and XP 1600+) and 1 mobo (MSI K7T266Pro).
