Do you have a DVD or a CD Burner ?

This question is just out of general curiosity. Cast your vote, participate and make this poll a success/learning experience. Please share any other related thoughts here.

Here is a general question I wish to also ask here if you do have a DVD Burner. How often do you use it ? What do you use it for ?

Also, just for this study, installing a DVD for someone else doesn't count. The voter needs to ACTUALLY have a DVD burner to vote for DVD

As an aside, what speed do you get when you burn a CD on a DVD Burner ? I heard this is possible.

Thanks in advance.

Both would have been a good option for this poll. I am sure there are some people out there that have both on one system.

I have CD burners on two separate systems ( one desktop, one laptop) currently I can't see any need for a DVD burner for me, stuff I need to back up fits easily onto a CD. Good poll

Having both is an issue that I didn't consider for this poll. This is a good question. If you have both, then please choose the one that you use the most. This will be more appropriate for the poll.

My DVD writer (Pioneer DVR-106D) makes both DVD and CD discs. I have both a CD and DVD writer. DVD discs are too small and slow for my backups, so I use hard drives for backups. I use both equally even though they are in seperate computers.

This is an exceptional situation. For backup for me 12Megs or so is enough. So even a CD is too much. My OS is bigger than my Data.
