Question Distro Advice???

Hey folks... I am new to this whole Linux revolution and am really enjoying my new-foud freedom. I have a question...

I have FC2 running on a Dell Latitude (PIII-1.0G/256mb/30mb, etc).... the install was flawless and EVERYTHING worked the first time and I have learned a tremendous amount about *NIX with this laptop. Amazing because I tried Linux about three years ago on an IBM T-pad and the experience was just south of painful.

My Question... I have a beefy HP D510 (3.2G/1G/256MB Nvidia Card, DVD/RW, CDRW, etc) that is sitting in my garage and I was wondering if anyone thought I should try a different distro for developing with LAMP on this desktop vs. the success I've had on my Dell Laptop? I expect this new box to just sit in the corner to server as a sandbox for LAMP. Does it matter what distro I use?

Thoughts?

you could stick with Fedora coz I think you are used to it by now. Slackware is very good, but involves a lot of manual configuration. This is good if you really wanna get into depth about how Linux works.

I'm liking Fedora myself. I'd have to say stick with it, and keep on learning, which is what i'm planning on doing.

Thanks folks... I installed FC2 two on the desktop and can not get any video. Why that seems funny to me, I'm not sure.. maybe because setup was such a breeze on my Latitude laptop. Well.. let me dive in and figure out what the problem is. : )
