DisplayPort monitor disconnects when going into power saving mode on 2 monitor setup
Kubuntu 22.04 LTS on kernel 6.0.0-7.1-liquorix
KDE Plasma 5.24.7
RTX 3070Ti on NVIDIA Driver 510.85.02
I have 2 monitors, one connected through HDMI to DVI-D, the other larger one is connected through DisplayPort directly. Whenever my PC going into power savings mode, the DisplayPort monitor completely disconnects, and it rearranges all of my windows. This is normally not an issue unless the program is an exclusive fullscreen application in which case the resolution is kept but it is moved onto the smaller monitor, causing some UI elements to become inaccessible, and occasionally disabling the larger monitor altogether, requiring it to be reconfigured from NVIDIA or Display settings, persisting even through a restart.

Yours is just one of many multi-monitor problems and fallouts KDE upstream is currently trying to solve. One foundational bug report is here, with many duplicates.
Some problems can be avoided by disabling KScreen2 from automatically starting. Displays can be arranged, and in many ways configured, manually via xrandr or semi-manually via arandr. Display configuration via /etc/X11/xorg.con* remains possible, though more difficult, as well.

This doesn't seem like quite the same issue, as my settings are kept just fine, it is the layout of windows not screens that keeps getting lost, and it is only after going into automatic power savings mode configured through plasma settings, a reboot keeps the window layout fine (unless one of the errors occurred after waking from power savings mode). Is there a way I can configure power savings mode so that the screen does not fully power off?
