I was running my computer off my tv with my ATI All-in-wonder 9600 128mb Graphic card. But when i baught knoppix 4.0 live dvd I coudln't see anything. So i went out and baught a new screen and stop using my tv. my screen works great for windows but when i boot up knoppix. I get the to the part where its detecting everything. The conculse window with purple and green text. and right after that my screen turns off and keeps trying to detect if something is there.

The screen I bought is a 19"LCD lcm-19v1 from Westinghouse westinghouse.com

Try going through the Knoppix cheat code. You might be able to assign a standard VGA device for your monitor. That way it wont autoconfigure it.

Here is the link to your cheatcodes
http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Cheat_Codes

if you wanted to shut the auto detect option you would give this at the boot time
Code:
nohwsetup
hope that helps
