Display Power Management won't work

Hi. I need some help.
I can't seem to use Display Power Management at all (standby, suspend, power off)... I tried it both with KDE's Power control and with XScreensaver. When the time comes that it's supposed to do something, nothing happens. Not even an error message. What's wrong? It's not my hardware because it works with this same computer in Windows.

I had the same problem. I had to edit my XF86Config file. Here's what worked for me:

edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config file as follows:

Graphics Device section > Section Device

add the line:

Option: "DPMS"

Mine looks like:

Section "Device"
Identifier "NVIDIA GeForce"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "DPMS"
#VideoRam 32768
# Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection

HTH,
Siri Amrit

Wonderful! Someone in this forum shared that trick with me when I was stuck. Aren't these forums great?
