Question Disk error message?

Is this a disk error message?

Oct 14 21:12:25 hdc: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
Oct 14 21:12:25 hdc: dma_intr: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=849868
50, sector=70817520
Oct 14 21:12:25 end_request: I/O error, dev 16:02 (hdc), sector 70817520

I have seen this 2 days in a row attempting to do a tar.

If it is a disk error should I replace the drive?

This is a definatly a hard drive. I know this mainly because of the file system that resides there is a DB2 application and I am getting kernal warnings in /var/log/messages. I am not sure how to determine other info about the drive so any help you can be there is appreciated. Also, when I worked on SCO Xenix I used fsck command tha t would "badspot" the drive. Any thoughts on that?

I ran fsck to check for errors and received the following.

NO errors?

$ fsck -CNV /db2dat/spsd/containers
fsck 1.32 (09-Nov-2002)
[/sbin/fsck.xfs (1) -- /db2dat/spsd/containers] fsck.xfs /dev/hdc2
$ fsck -CNrV /db2dat/spsd/containers
fsck 1.32 (09-Nov-2002)
[/sbin/fsck.xfs (1) -- /db2dat/spsd/containers] fsck.xfs -r /dev/hdc2
