Disk /dev/hdb doesn't contain a valid partition table
Hi,
I bought a new hardrive Hitachi Deskstar 200GB... But when I connect it as a slave (using one of the many jumper settings), I am able to see the drive:
[root@cse004 root]# fdisk -l /dev/hdb
Disk /dev/hdb: 200.0 GB, 200032870400 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 24319 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk /dev/hdb doesn't contain a valid partition table
When I use fdisk to create and write partitions onto this drive, it successfully does it. But, when I try to see the partitions, it gives the exact same message as above... Even Windows is not able to recognize this drive...
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Manudath
