Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question disk array hardware?

I am currently running Fedora Core 3 on 2 P4 boxes with firewire 400 to a shared 200GB Maxtor external drive. I am running Oracle 10G in RAC (Real Application Cluster) mode. I am interested in replacing the single 200GB Maxtor with a disk array that I can configure using an LVM. does anybody have suggestions on a hardware vendor that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Or should I just build another server in a full tower with built in RAID and use it as NAS storage?
Thanks
