disabling the CUPS web interface

How can the CUPS web interface (at http://localhost:631) be deactivated so that CUPS no longer listens to http?

hmmm, cups isn't even listed in my /etc/services.conf, which leads me to believe it might be bound to its http interface and the only way to stop it would be to stop cupsd

you can use an option available in /etc/cupsd.conf or /etc/cups/cupsd.conf that will deny all users from accessing the web interface, but it might break printing
