Disabling irq #5 with FC3
My problem is deeper than it sounds from the subject.
I can not install any distribution on my new office computer:
MB Asus P4C800
CPU Intel Pentium4 2.8 GHz
1 GB DDR RAM
HD 120 GB (I was told it is a serial ATA model)
ATI - Radeon 9600xt Graphics
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio (onboard)
3COM LAN (onboard)
I tried 7-8 most popular distributions from LinuxIso.org, but they would freeze after few seconds. I was told that it is because the serial ATA HD was not supported, and that I should to wait for new distributions. I menaged to install Mandrake 10.1 Beta1, but it was unusably slow, and it would freeze from time to time.
The instalation of Fedora Core 3 looks fine until the message 'Disabling irq #5' begins to appear, every second. After few minutes Anaconda starts and let me choose my prefferences. Then, the instalation is unusually slow (looks almost frosen). Then, during the postinstall settings, it freezes definitelly.
Pleas, help me. Which hardware component should I change, or which setting should I change in the bios, any advice is welcome.
Tomislav
PS At home, all the distributions work pretty well on my AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz
