Disable hardware
In Windows XP, you can go to control center, view hardware list, and disable any hardware you want to disable. I want to know how to do same in Ubuntu.
I picked up an old laptop that has a piece of unusual radio-transmitting hardware built in, that I need to disable, at least until I understand what it is and how it works and what laws exist pertaining to its operation. There is a card listed for it in Device Manager (Ubuntu). Can I disable devices in Ubuntu just as did in Windows? |
If the hardware is supported and a module is loaded for it by default then just blacklist the module and it will stop it from loading.
See /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist HTH |
