different sized monitors & nvidia dual display

Hi all!

I currently have a Radeon 9800 Pro set up on Win XP & Fedora 2 dual boot with 21" & 17" monitors and a single big desktop. Under XP you can select different resolutions for the different monitors which works great. After about 2 weeks of googling I eventually got the radeon 3D accelerated driver working under Fedora, but I can't get it to do different resolutions across the monitors. I know about stuff like 'MetaModes' in XFree86 but that's not an option with the ati driver.

I'm considering changing over to a comparable nVidia card with 3D acceleration as I think that'll be a solution, so can anyone confirm that nVidia cards like this allow you to do different resolutions in Linux & Windows?

cheers
Bruce

I've done it numerous times with a Nvidia and a Matrox card. One monitor at 800x600, the other 1024xsomething... I don't see why you can't do this with an ATI card though... And as far as if it can be done in Windows, I have no idea.
