dial up modem - busy...
I just booted up with Knoppix on my laptop. I have a Xircom internal modem, but when I’m trying to use kppp it says that my modem is busy. I even loaded up Lycoris on the laptop to try and see if that would work and Lycoris did the same thing. My NIC works no problem, and my modem works when I use Win2K so I know it works. I checked the info center and I see it in there. Any ideas? I’ve never once used a dial up before, this is my first laptop, that’s why.

Thanks for the response. I had thought about that, but when it recognized my card, it said it was a mini-pci modem... Is that a winmodem?

look at your chip set or ask for support ask them if you had a winmodem they will tell you(manufacturer support) or at www.linmodems.org there is script to find it out.
