DG33FBC and linux?

Is the intel DG33FBC motherboard compatible with Debian Etch/Linux? I emailed intel pre-sales support asking the same. Waiting for an answer.

Intel products are generally very well supported in Linux, it should work just fine.

Even if it has onboard video controller? If it works its perfect for my setup because it will be used as a linux server without a display, I just ssh to it, in the event I need a display I can plug it in the onboard vga apdator temporarely.

From what I know, the kernel in Etch (and many other distributions) lacks support for the ICH9 chipset of that motherboard, Sid support it, not sure about lenny.

There's a Etch version patched using the 2.6.23 kernel that has support for that motherboard, a friend of mine with the same motherboard said that worked, but if your choice if you want or not to try it. Here's the download page. Of course, you can still try the Etch version without the patch and see if it works for you.

Regards

Intel provides very good drivers for their video chipsets. The 3100 is pretty new, so the 3D features in the drivers may be a little lacking, but that shouldn't matter to you. I'm typing this on a laptop with an Intel 945GM chipset, works beautifully.

Whats a good stable intel motherboard that would work well with current debian etch? I run the 2.6.18 kernel with custom special patches. My only requirement is that it takes ddr2 667mhz ram and supports intel quad core 2 cpu.
