DFE-690TXD Linux 7.2

Hi all,
I have a little problem with installing the dfe690 card onto my sony laptop 505fx, sorry to bother you guys and yes i did use the search feature but all the post were really old and didn't help much. Well i'm trying to install the card and used all the formulas as explained in the other threads but it didn't work, i'm very new with linux so i'm trying to at least setup the internet. when i installed redhat 9 it work fine but the computer is just to slow to support that version but 7.2 seems to work fine... i also tried to use rh 5 but the gfx didn't work nor i knew how to set it up correctly. I acutally just need a step to step tutorial on setting up the card to work correctly. Thanks guys!

ps. i don't have a floppy!

Your card uses the dfe690 module. RH 7.2 might not have the module included but you can download it from here. It requires compiling from source.

slackware and a lightweight windows manager might run better then RH9 and it would have better hardware support.
