device to filename mapping (Modem)

Hello,

I have an internal modem in linux running embedded PC.
I want to know, to which device file it has been attached to?

I do not have any "modem" file under /dev directory.

Is there is any device to file mapping command/file for serial devices?

I also do not have any "ttytype" file under /etc/.

The PC does not have GUI so please explain accordingly.
Kernel: 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
-Rohan

usually it is /dev/ttyS*
use some program like wvdialconf to detect it

Maybe you find more information for your type of modem here:

if your not sure of the model ,try hwinfo to get details
if that isn't in your distro there should be a similar program
