Unhappy Device Driver(s)

I have been toying with starting to use Linux for awhile. So today, I tried Red Hat Linux 9. I never got to 1st base. It is asking for device drivers and I don't know where to find that info. I have a Dell purchased in January of this year. Is there a certain one that can be chosen from the list of choices available to me to complete my installation.

I did try to mount a CD with the device drivers for this PC to no avail. I mounted the CD on hdb (Is that the second dvd/cd rw drive?) but nothing happened.

using a computer that's 4 years newer than the operating system isn't a great start... get a modern distro, not an onselete one. if you want to carry on the redhat timeline, try fedora core 5, it's most direct desktop descendent.

Thanks for the info. I was not aware that Linux 9 is so old.

yeah, people see a high number and go for it... shame really. most common in india from my experiences here. it still does get used most is generally found on servers that are stuck with it and can't be reinstalled.
