Symptoms:
MAndriva 2006 started straight to the command, many errors to do with lockfiles and also /dev/hda3 is somehow readonly and nothing can load, because of lockfile errors. Files cannot be modified or deleted. I can look at all the files but they cannot be modified. MEPIS HArddrake lists the partition has 'none' but there is something there it just can't see it properly. FS is ext3. Happend after I shut off the PC when Mandriva did not shut down fully. It has a problem were it locks at the blue screen with the X on shutdown and the proper path is not done to shut it down, so I have to press the power off button.

Here are my partitions
fdisk -l

Disk /dev/hda: 203.9 GB, 203928109056 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 24792 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 9739 78228486 c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/hda2 * 9740 9752 104422+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda3 9753 24792 120808800 8e Linux LVM

I tested the HDD with Powermax 4.22 and the hdd came back perfect without any problem.

e2fsck -pvc /dev/hda3
e2fsck: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/hda3
/dev/hda3:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2
filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock
is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

I do tried the above block and 2 others but they did not work either. please help!
