Determine HD Capacity...

How would one go about determining the capacity of their hard-disk partition through linux, and seeing how much free space is left?

Also, could you assing quotas or limits on how much would be stored in a given folder through samba....?

you can use df -h to see how much hard drive space is left on mounted filesystems. it even gives the percentage of filesystem in use.

i don't think you can quota a folder, i think it has to be a partition. but i could be wrong on that, so it wouldn't hurt to google.
