Detecting the right cpu speed

Right now I am using a Dell Poweredge 2650 with Fedora Core 6 with the PAE kernel. When I do a cat /proc/cpu info it gives the speed of 349.99 for Processor 0 and 1 and around 699 for Processor 2 and 3. They are 2.8GHz chips. In the /etc/cpuspeed.conf file should I have something referencing the Xeon chipset? Right now it is set to p4-clockmod which is wrong but I don't know where the Xeon module is. Do I need to recompile the kernel to get a module for the Xeon chipset to reference in cpuspeed.conf? Or am I just totally off base and everything is fine?

I don't know Fedora 6 or the details of that kernel, but check out this link about a similar issue on a Dell system (a laptop) running Debian: Dell e1405 If his problem and yours are the same, then yes, you need to compile a kernel with support for the new Xeon chipset.
