My friend's Windows XP box doesn't have a driver for it's built in sound card, so I figured I'd help him find one. First though, we have to figure out what it is, so I was wondering if there was a way to shove a Linux Live CD in there to detect it, mostly for kicks (since we COULD just look inside ). I have Slax, Knoppix, and a few lightweight live CDs. Can someone post a simple way of showing the detected hardware in a live CD (I'm assuming it'll find it)?
Ah, I'll remember those or at least reference those if I need to do this again. I ended up going in some KDE program that had system info. Thanks anyway.
