detecting 10 / 100 mbps link

Hi,
is there any command or any other way to know, as to which speed my machine is connected to ...i.e. 10 / 100 mbps or something else.
regards
rajat

Your dmesg output will most likely contain messages about your network device. Try dmesg | grep eth0 (assuming eth0 is your network device), in the output most network drivers will report something along these lines:
Code:

eth0: autonegotiation complete: 100baseT-FD selected
