Designation question - ethernet card

Hi all folks,

I have 2 ethernet cards plugged into PCI slots of the motherboard.

Ethernet card-A eth0 (next to Graphic card slot)
Ethernet card-B eth1 (next to Ethernet card-A)

Is it possible to interchage their designation i.e.

Ethernet card-A (becomes) eth1 (next to Graphic card slot)
Ethernet card-B (becomes) eth0 (next to Ethernet card-A)

Which command shall be issued to display their IRQ?

Thanks in advance.

B.R.

Isn't it easier to just switch the cables?
