Hello everyone.

Is it possible to install RHEL 6 on this machine? I've bought it really cheap, and if not what v of RH i can install on it.

Another question is... i want to run VMServer on it but non of the "Irvindale" CPU's support VT-x. Maybe i could swap CPU and put Xeon 7140M SL9HA (B0) or one of those CPU family? If not is there any other way to actually implement VT-x technology to that server?

I hope i didn't mess up too much with those questions.

I don't know what you have so I can't say for sure.
Usually a server is made both in cpu and motherboard support for vt-x. Does it show in bios even if greyed out?

That doesn't mean you can't run a VM. I have been running vm's for more than a decade and on some poor systems way before any virtual support.

If you could support that cpu listed then I almost find it hard to believe you don't have full support already. That cpu is only for newer boards, way past the vt-x beginning.

I'd be tempted to use the service code to determine the exact parts inside.
