Dell PowerEdge 2650

Does anyone know of any known issues with installing Red Hat 7.2 on Dell PowerEdge 2650s?

Its technical specifications are:

Up to two Intel Xeon Processors with NetBurst Micro-architecture with Hyper-Threading support.

Up to 12GB ECC DDR SDRAM for expandable performance. Chipkill support with 512KB, 1GB and 2GB DIMMs and the ability to configure for a Spare Bank ensures memory availability.

ServerWorks GC-LE chipset utilizes 533MHz front side bus, 2:1 memory interleaving for faster memory access and supports 5 PCI buses (three of which are are PCI-X capable) for uncompromising I/O throughput.

Optional activation of embedded dual channel Ultra3 (U160) RAID controller with battery backed cache to protect your data.

Expandable internal storage with up to 730GB Ultra3 (U160) SCSI hard drives.

Embedded Remote Access (ERA) port provides remote management capabilities regardless of the state of the server.

Thanks

Ketan

if you have that nice/moderm of a computer, you should be able to afford a copy of Redhat 9, or an enterprise edition version of any distro of linux, which would be more appropriate, and have more hardware support for servers...

Yeah sure, RH 9.0 would have worked fine without any support. But we are simulating scenario at our lab that needs RH 7.2. Thats the only reason to go for RH 7.2.

thanks
