Dell Photo Printer 720 - Printing Driver

So I have this Dell Photo Printer 720 that I'm trying to set up. I've read that it's just a remade Lexmark z600 series printer so I downloaded the RedHat Lexmark printer drivers for the 600 series and converted the rpms to tgz and installed them. However, when I try to add the printer, the driver shows up fine, but when I choose the Lexmark z600 driver, it won't print the test page. I'm running Slackware 10.2 under KDE 3.4.

Was this ever resolved?

I am having the same issue. I installed the drivers and they were recogized as was the printer, but when I go to print a test page nothing happens. In the status it says "printing" and after a few seconds changes to "stopped" with no other output.

Has anybody had this problem and found a solution?

Thanks!

I think i've got it figured out here. I installed libstdc++5 and it seems to be working fine now (my color ink is evidently empty, but test page prints fine in b&w)....

try it and see...
