Hi, im thinking of getting a Dell Optiplex GX110 to get to grips with Linux properly alongside my college course, i know a bit already but im definetly not a guru if you know what i mean :P. I was really wondering if the computer had many driver problems in most distros. The spec is as follows:
Intel Pentium III 866MHz
256MB RAM
200GB drive i think (if it works!)
Integrated Intel Direct AGP Graphics Accelerator with Dynamic Video Memory (DVM) technology architecture (Apparently)
It has no AGP expansion because it is a SFF pc and to make it cheaper, but it has PCI slots if i wanna slot in a cheapy GeForce 2MX or something.
Im primarily conserned about the graphics and sound not working because they are both integrated which ive heard often can turn out nasty in some linux distros
Also i wanted a few suggestion on good learning distros. I want something good to learn from but not dumbed down like mandrake, suse, linspire (IMO). The best ive found so far is Slackware but anyone else got any good suggestions?
Thanks

Mikey
