Hi, I would like to know which distro is compatible with the video hardware (an ati mobility radeon x1400), I've used xubuntu 8.10 and the 3d support was just fine,but I would like to know another distro with good 3d support for this card, the reason is because I like to develop graphical programs that require opengl, and althougth xubuntu is a good distro, I would like to use classic distros like debian or slackware or distros with red-hat support like fedora, I would be very pleased if someone could tell me which distro and also which version works for this particular video card

I imagine all have the xf86-radeonhd driver which probably handles that hardware. You rarely get the proprietary drivers on a distro. After that, everyone has their personal preference for strange reasons.
