Hi,
I had recently got my new comp -- Dell Dimention 9100. Right off the bat the HDD burned out so I got a new one in mail from Dell.
I installed XP on it (HDD came blank) just fine, and than decided than it is time to install Gentoo on it and start dual booting. Knoppix had frozen upon trying to start (at the moment 'Starting the system...') while Gentoo live CD booted up just fine, but than failed to see the input from the keyboard! I had similar keyboard ignore issued before with XP, untill I switched the kernel settings for the Serial ATA Hard Drive, which seems to be the root of all evil.
Does anyoneone know how I can run any live CD distro off that machine?
thanks,
Lech
P.S. comp specs are:

My setup is basit, aside of videao card (256MB PCI Express™ x16 nVidia GeForce 6800), CPU (Pentium® D Processor 820 with Dual Core Technology (2.80GHz, 800FSB)) and sound card.
Dell technitian said that CPU or HDD can be an issue, since CPU is a fairly new model, I had to d/l patch for XP for it, however both live distros recognized CPU just fine it seems...
