DELL D400 + Mandrake 10 + Fedora Core 2

I have a DELL D400, external CDROM/DVD.

Mandrake 10 - Everytime i try to install, it says it can't find my cd-rom. Is there a work around. ?

Fedora Core 2 seems to able to detect my CD-ROM, however i get a green screen straight after i launch into setup. I managed to install it via text mode, however when it loads up to bit 'Press I for interactive setup...', the Green screen pops again and freezes..

any ideas? ... extremely frustrated here ....

DELL D400 + Mandrake 10 + Fedora Core 2

Hi, my dad had the same problem trying to install Mandriva 2005LE on a Latitude D400.
Try to use another external drive, maybe has a problem with the cable or the unit.
Check updates for your BIOS, the BIOS comes with some bugs that doesn't allow the installation. He upgraded it and now he is happy with his 10.2 (2005LE)
Hope this helps a little bit
