Dell 7500 & FC2

Has anyone else had problems with sound after a FC2 install? I HAVE sound, but its REALLY faint. almost like the sound isnt turned up enough....and yes I did check the volume controls... they're all up. I installed XMMS last nite and turned the volume up there, on the side of hte laptop and in the Volume Control. Still about 1/4 of what the sound was under Windows XP. I have to believe that its a driver or something.

The Laptop uses a Maestro sound card..... Not sure if that makes any difference.

In addition to the hardward volume controls being turned up, are the software volume controls also turned up? I'm not sure what sound system FC2 is using, but in a lot of distros, it's necessary to run the alsamixer command to adjust the volume. Just enter: alsamixer and then use the arrow keys to turn the various volume settings up or down. -- J.W.

I go to run application and typed that. It Auto finished the type so i assume that it was installed, but when i hit enter nothing happened. Any ideas?
